Why Your Background Doesn’t Matter… And Why That’s a Good Thing!”
Hello, fellow digital citizens! Any candidate in a digital democracy (DD) should not stand before you to tell you about their extensive experience (or lack thereof), their glittering CV, or their impressive ability to alphabetically organize their sock drawer. Nope, none of that matters. In fact, in a digital democracy like this platform, a DD candidate’s background is about as relevant as a fax machine. And here’s why:
Reason 1: Representatives should just be Messengers, Not the Message
In this new world of digital democracy we want an apolitical politician, their opinion, their agenda, their beliefs is irrelevant . Their sole job is to be a glorified Wi-Fi router for the collective will of the people. DD representatives are just here to plug in, grab the data from the vote, and transmit it like an obedient robot! Their personal feelings? Irrelevant! They are basically the human version of an “enter” button—an expressionless, opinionless mouthpiece for your decisions. You vote, they speak. Simple!
Reason 2: The CV Trap
Now, I know you’re dying to know where they went to school or what their first job was, but let’s be honest: does it really matter? If you knew the candidate graduated in interpretive dance or worked at a clown college, you’d immediately start imagining who they are. And that’s where the problem lies. Knowing too much about someone will influence your brain with preconceived notions, and suddenly, you’ll be questioning their ability to “represent” you. Forget the CV—it’ll only cloud our mind with bias. Let’s keep things pure!
Reason 3: History is for Historians, Not Campaigns!
The media, political opponents, and even your nosy aunt are all over politicans like flies on shit! These days any dissenting politician could be dragged through the mud for that one time they misspelled “democracy” in a school essay or the small fact they dressed as a pirate at their university graduation. History is full of skeletons (or embarrassing costumes), just ask a variety of dissenters from Corbyn to Brand. So instead of giving the establishment ammo to fire, let’s just leave history where it belongs—in the “deleted browser history” of life.
So, in conclusion, fellow digital democrats, background is irrelevant because (1) DD representatives are spokespeople, not your personal guru, (2) knowing too much will make your brain do weird things like assume they ar more than just a democracy vessel, and (3) the last thing we need is some media circus about a DD candidate’s questionable taste in college hairstyles.
Let’s focus on the future—where you vote, let Digital Democracy speak, and everyone wins… unless the Wi-Fi goes down.
